The Mobility House, a global leader in smart charging and energy management solutions, and Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI), which is innovating new ways for utilities and cities to manage energy and water, are beginning a groundbreaking project in New York State to implement technology to accelerate fleet electrification. This initiative, supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), will use cutting-edge flexible service connections to address distribution system capacity to prevent delays in fleet charging.

District and school administrators hosted a ceremony on August 7th to celebrate the successful implementation of their new vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging system at the Fremont Unified School District (FUSD) Transportation Yard. The event was co-presented by The Mobility House, and included project partners World Resources Institute, Center for Transportation and the Environment, and Polara.

Turlock Unified School District (TUSD) celebrated the delivery of nine electric buses and charging infrastructure with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at their transportation center. They were joined by project partners Schneider Electric, The Mobility House, Turlock Irrigation District, A-Z Bus Sales, Valley Air District and NV5.

Resource Innovations (RI), a leading provider of clean energy solutions, and The Mobility House (TMH), a global leader in vehicle-grid integration (VGI) technology, have been selected by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) to spearhead a first-of-its-kind statewide vehicle-to-everything (V2X) demonstration program. This two-year initiative will deploy bidirectional charging infrastructure to enhance grid resilience, reduce energy costs, and increase renewable energy integration across Massachusetts.

The Mobility House and New York City School Bus Umbrella Services (NYCSBUS) have been honored with the Consolidated Edison (Con Edison) "Most Innovative Interconnection Award" for their pioneering electric school bus infrastructure project at Zerega Avenue Depot in the Bronx. Representatives from The Mobility House and NYCSBUS accepted the award at the 2024 Con Edison E-Mobility Awards at the utility provider’s headquarters in New York.

Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA) recognized “Electrifying School Buses in the Bronx” with the 2024 Power Player of the Year award in the Transportation category. ESBB is a groundbreaking project led by New York City School Bus Umbrella Services (NYCSBUS) and its partners to put 25 zero emissions buses into service for the community with advanced smart charging technology and educational benefits for school bus operators and districts across the region.

CTtransit, the largest public transit provider in Connecticut, has selected The Mobility House to manage the charging of its electric buses at three sites statewide. ChargePilot® will avoid peak TOU rates by automatically choosing the lowest cost time to charge while ensuring availability for scheduled departures - minimizing the overall costs of charging its fleets.

Dr. Herbert Diess will join The Mobility House as the new Executive Chairman of the Board. The California Energy Commission (CEC), through its Clean Transportation Program, has granted a $2.9 million award to a project team led by The Mobility House to implement 12 bidirectional chargers at four California school locations. The project, termed “Replicable V2X Deployment For Schools (RVXDS),” will utilize school bus fleets to mitigate regional grid emergencies - especially during peak summertime windows.

New York City School Bus Umbrella Services (NYCSBUS) has announced the approval of charging infrastructure and automated load management (ALM) to support 25 electric school buses, the majority of which will be deployed in the Bronx. The Mobility House, an electric vehicle charging and energy solutions company, was part of the team that won $8 million from NYSERDA New York Clean Transportation Prizes program in 2022 for bi-directional charging infrastructure. Separately, NYCSBUS won an award from the EPA’s Clean School Bus program for 25 electric buses, which accelerated the need for charging infrastructure.

The Mobility House (the company), a global provider of electric vehicle charging technologies and solutions, has today released the first-of-its-kind technical guide to automated load management (ALM), a technology that will be increasingly essential to powering the electric vehicle (EV) transition. The report draws on The Mobility House’s experience and data from managing more than 1200 smart charging sites worldwide, including more than 100 “oversubscribed” sites, the term used for sites where ALM is used to install electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) nameplate capacity that exceeds the site’s utility connection. This is the essential purpose and value of ALM – to reduce or eliminate the need for upgrades by controlling charging load within a set limit.

Long Beach Transit (LBT) will use the industry-leading charge management system ChargePilot®, provided by The Mobility House (TMH), to operate their latest deployment of electric buses. New Flyer Group (NFI) will provide 20 battery electric buses (BEB) and charging infrastructure through New Flyer Infrastructure, and Heliox Energy is the electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) provider.

The Mobility House has been selected by New York City School Bus Umbrella Services (NYCSBUS) to manage electric vehicle charging and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) operations for the largest V2G school bus electrification project in the state. Awarded $8 million by New York State Energy Research and Development Authority's (NYSERDA) New York Clean Transportation Prizes program, NYCSBUS will leverage The Mobility House’s charge and energy management system, ChargePilot®, to optimize infrastructure planning and operation for 30 electric school buses deployed at the Bronx’s Zerega Avenue depot. The Mobility House’s modeling estimates NYCSBUS will save $70,000 to $160,000 annually with managed smart charging.

The Mobility House, in collaboration with partners including AlphaStruxure and Schneider Electric, celebrates the completion and energizing of Brookville Smart Energy Bus Depot in Montgomery County, Maryland. This landmark integrated 6.5 MW microgrid and electric bus charging infrastructure project uses onsite solar canopies, natural gas generators, battery storage, microgrid controls and electric bus chargers to support 70 electric buses, a holistic solution that can run independent of the local utility. The Mobility House’s smart charging and energy management system, ChargePilot, coordinates charging with the microgrid by optimizing the buses’ charging schedules based on route blocks and energy demands to ensure vehicle readiness.

The Mobility House has been selected by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to deploy its smart charging and energy management solution ChargePilot® for New York City Transit (NYCT), the largest public bus fleet operator in the U.S. During the year-long pilot program, The Mobility House will manage charging for 27 charge ports across two bus depots in Staten Island and Queens. Coordinating local utility rate structures with bus schedules and travel routes, ChargePilot® will optimize charging to maximize vehicle uptime, reduce electricity costs and streamline the transition to electric vehicles. The Mobility House’s proof-of-concept modeling with the Transit Tech Lab demonstrated that ChargePilot® can reduce operating expenses by more than $35,000 per month in operating expenses at one of the two depots alone.

The Mobility House and Endera have partnered to bring the benefits of electric vehicles and smart charging to commercial transportation through an integrated technology offering. Endera designs, sells and services commercial electric vehicles and charging stations, while The Mobility House’s charging and energy management system, ChargePilot, optimizes charging to ensure vehicle readiness and reduce operating expenses. The companies have already delivered their fully-integrated electric shuttles and smart charging solution to two parking operators – ACE Parking and Aladdin Airport Parking – both servicing the San Diego International Airport.

The Mobility House today announced the addition of Bryan Thomas to the company’s growing team through the acquisition of Charge Theory, a provider of managed electric fleet charging services at a guaranteed price-per-mile. The combination of The Mobility House’s decade-plus experience with smart charging worldwide and Charge Theory’s pioneering Charging as a Service (CaaS) model creates a complete, world-class turnkey charging solution for electrifying fleets - from school and transit buses to last-mile delivery.

A new project funded by the California Energy Commission (CEC) will demonstrate the value of bidirectional electric vehicle charging to support a first-of-its-kind vehicle-to-building (V2B) resilience hub. This groundbreaking project will leverage stored energy from zero-emission electric buses, owned and operated by AC Transit, to provide filtered air conditioning at the West Oakland Branch of the Oakland Public Library for local residents in the event of unhealthy heat or smoke conditions. CEC’s Electric Program Investment Charge program awarded the project $3.2 million in funding, with combined $400,000 in matching funds contributed by West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project (WOEIP) and AC Transit. This pilot study is known locally as "V2B Oakland" and will be executed by a powerhouse green energy project team: Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE), The Mobility House, AC Transit, New Flyer, Schneider Electric, City of Oakland and WOEIP.

The Mobility House announced today it has fully commissioned an intelligent charging and energy management solution that will reduce the total cost of ownership for King County Metro’s new electric bus charging pilot by over $1 million dollars. The first-of-its-kind charging infrastructure pilot at the South Base Test Facility (Test Facility) was intentionally designed by King County Metro to test the capabilities of high-power plug-in and overhead chargers from three manufacturers – ABB, Siemens and Heliox – in support of their ambitious electrification plans to achieve a 100% zero emissions fleet by 2035. Metro leveraged The Mobility House’s energy and charge management solution ChargePilot for its compatibility with all three brands of charger, as well as its cost-saving load management and smart charging capability.

The Mobility House announced today its partnership with Modesto City Schools in California to integrate its smart charging and energy management system, ChargePilot, with the district’s new electric bus fleet. Modesto City Schools, in partnership with California’s Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project, has invested $14 million to purchase 30 Blue Bird electric buses – the largest single order in Blue Bird history – replacing nearly half of its existing diesel fleet and saving over $250,000 a year with zero-emission alternatives. The project is led by Modesto City Schools, with construction and engineering to be completed by Schneider Electric, and in collaboration with A to Z Bus Sales.

The Mobility House and Heliox announced that Heliox will integrate its latest smart chargers with The Mobility House’s Charging and Energy management solution ChargePilot, which intelligently optimizes charging schedules at the lowest utility electricity rate, to offer a coordinated charge management solution for large scale e-bus installations.

The Mobility House today announced Stockton Unified School District has reduced over 120,000 pounds of carbon emissions since the start of the 2021 school year, or equivalent of consuming 5,000 gallons of diesel fuel. Leveraging The Mobility House’s smart charging and energy management system ChargePilot, the district continues to ensure all buses remain available for assigned routes while minimizing charging costs. In conjunction with California Energy Commission’s new blueprint grant, The Mobility House will also use the district’s 92 vehicle fleet to analyze charging requirements, operations and potential vehicle-to-grid (V2G) revenue opportunities for other school districts.

Stockton Unified School District in Stockton, Calif., has partnered with The Mobility House to deploy smart charging strategy and management solutions for the district’s zero-emission fleet project, which is now operational and scheduled to transport students to schools throughout the district. Completed in under one year, the electric school bus fleet project is part of a series of electrification initiatives by the Stockton Unified School District to become the nation’s leading zero-emission school district. The transportation yard has been constructed for 24 chargers to accommodate future additions to the electric bus fleet and relies on The Mobility House to minimize electricity charging costs while also ensuring vehicles are readily available for assigned routes.

AlphaStruxure and The Mobility House announced today a strategic partnership to streamline the development of electric fleets with clean energy microgrids plus intelligent charging systems. With North America projected to see nearly 15 million electric vehicles in fleets by 2040, transit and fleet operators now have the opportunity to further reduce carbon emissions and increase operational resilience by charging electric vehicles with on-site renewable energy. The Mobility House’s intelligent charging solution wrapped into AlphaStruxure’s powerful Energy as a Service (EaaS) transportation electrification microgrid approach is already contracted for the Brookville Smart Energy Bus Depot, one of the most large-scale fleet electrification projects underway in North America.

The Mobility House continues to pioneer the field of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology by bringing its ChargePilot software to Southeast Asia for the first V2G trial. SP Group (formerly Singapore Power), Singapore’s national grid operator and leading sustainable solutions provider, has increased its initial investment in The Mobility House in conjunction with the start of its V1G and V2G technology trial. The trial will test and verify the feasibility of controlled charging as well as using energy stored in electric vehicles (EVs) to enhance grid stability. The goal is to accommodate higher EV grid penetration, particularly as Singapore prepares to replace all internal combustion engine vehicles by 2040.
