Shares of telecommunications infrastructure company Lumen Technologies (NYSE:LUMN) jumped 4.3% in the afternoon session after the company announced a strategic partnership with Digital Realty to deliver high-capacity connectivity services designed for artificial intelligence (AI) applications. The collaboration was set to make Lumen's new Wavelength RapidRoutes services available on Digital Realty's global data center platform. This partnership aimed to empower organizations with connectivity speeds up to 400G, allowing them to rapidly build and use AI applications. The move aligned with the company's recent strategic pivot towards AI infrastructure, which was highlighted during its Q2 2025 earnings call. In that same report, Lumen also noted it had raised its free cash flow guidance for 2025.

Shares of secondhand luxury marketplace The RealReal (NASDAQ: REAL) jumped in the afternoon session after UBS raised its price target on the stock to $10.50 from $8.00. The investment firm kept its rating on the stock at "Neutral." UBS noted that its research pointed to continued sales momentum for the luxury consignment retailer in the third quarter. However, the firm also believed this positive performance was already factored into the current stock price. The stock had already gained 61% since the company's second-quarter earnings report, performing much better than the broader S&P 500 index. UBS forecasted third-quarter results that were in line with market expectations and anticipated that the company would keep its full-year guidance the same.

Shares of e-commerce platform Shopify (NYSE:SHOP) jumped 1.2% in the afternoon session after the company announced an expansion of its payment services through a partnership with Global-e, a platform that helps merchants sell internationally. As part of the new agreement, merchants on Shopify that used Global-e's platform could now offer Shop Pay's one-click checkout. This feature simplified the shopping process by using pre-filled details, which aimed to improve the experience for international customers. The move built on a multi-year partnership between the two companies.

Shares of dental products company Dentsply Sirona (NASDAQ:XRAY) rose 1.1% in the afternoon session after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) concluded its investigation into the company's accounting practices and did not intend to recommend any enforcement action. The probe, which began in 2022, had focused on the dental-supplies maker's use of incentives to sell products to distributors in 2021 and whether those incentives were properly accounted for in financial reports. The conclusion of the investigation removed a significant uncertainty for investors. In a filing, Dentsply Sirona noted that it had fully cooperated with the SEC and viewed the closure of the probe without any enforcement action as a "significant and favorable development.".

Analyst Greg Pendy announced the move, marking the first time the research firm provided a rating for Globalstar. This initiation suggested confidence in the company's business model. Shares of financial services giant Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) jumped 3.8% in the afternoon session after the company reported strong third-quarter 2025 financial results that surpassed Wall Street's expectations for both profit and revenue. The bank announced earnings per share of $1.06, comfortably beating analysts' estimates of $0.95 and increasing from $0.81 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter grew 10.8% year-over-year to $28.09 billion, also ahead of the consensus forecast of $27.58 billion. A key driver of the positive results was a 9.1% rise in net interest income—the profit a bank makes from its lending activities. Furthermore, the bank demonstrated strong cost control, with its efficiency ratio improving to 61.7%, a better result than analysts had anticipated.

Shares of telehealth company Hims & Hers Health (NYSE:HIMS) jumped 5.7% in the afternoon session after the company announced the launch of perimenopause and menopause treatment options on its platform. This expansion into women's health offered customers access to personalized treatment plans and prescription medications, including estradiol and progesterone. The treatments were made available in various forms such as pills, patches, and creams. Shares of industrial processing equipment and solutions provider Hillenbrand (NYSE:HI) jumped 17.7% in the afternoon session after it announced an agreement to be acquired by an affiliate of Lone Star Funds in an all-cash transaction. The deal valued the company at approximately $3.8 billion, or $32.00 per share. This price represented a substantial premium of about 37% over Hillenbrand's closing share price on August 12, 2025. The company's Board of Directors unanimously approved the transaction. According to the board's chairperson, Helen Cornell, the agreement delivered "immediate and certain cash value" to shareholders. The deal is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of 2026. Upon completion, Hillenbrand will become a privately held company, and its shares will no longer trade on the New York Stock Exchange.

AZZ’s third quarter saw a negative market response as the company’s revenue came in below Wall Street consensus, despite modest year-over-year growth. Management cited strong infrastructure and utility project demand as a positive for the Metal Coatings segment, but highlighted that the Precoat Metals business faced persistent headwinds from tariffs and weak construction markets.
